Hi, I’m Brian Rock, founder of the Rock Tax Group. I started this firm after seeing too many hardworking people, freelancers, and small business owners overwhelmed by tax season. I knew there had to be a better way than spending hours in a stuffy office or dealing with faceless corporate tax chains.
After witnessing the anxiety caused by complicated tax codes and impersonal service, I decided to build a firm that combines top-tier expertise with genuine care.
We went 100% remote to bring the office to you. No, literally. Whether you are on your couch, in your office, or traveling, we make tax prep secure, digital, and convenient. Our mission is to ensure you feel empowered, informed, and fully supported—never just another return.

My name is Brian Rock.

Brian is the President for The Rock Tax Group. His professional experience includes over 25 years working in the tax business. Brian was a senior revenue agent with the Internal Revenue Service. His work experience with the IRS included conducting examinations for individuals and businesses. His experience includes advanced tax planning and preparation for a wide array of individuals, startups and established businesses. Additionally, he specializes in helping startups get off on the right foot and ensure their accounting and financial statements are accurate as they rapidly grow and approach liquidity events.
Throughout his career, Brian has developed a strong passion for helping individuals and small businesses navigate their most complex challenges. Brian has represented clients with both federal and local tax issues and has helped individuals and businesses navigate the complex tax code in order to create the most tax advantageous situations. He believes in building lasting relationships and to work as a partner along the client’s journey.
Brian graduated from Saint Xavier University with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting where he completed outside the classroom while working full time. After completing his undergraduate studies, he went on to graduate school and received an MBA from Saint Xavier University in Chicago, Illinois.
